I could be waiting weeks for the right conditions to go around the top of Scotland so I've decided to go through the Caledonian canal instead.

Nairn looks like a nice town but I'm stuck out here for a few hours until the tide comes in
Understandable decision. You can always return via the top of Scotland. The winds will be in your favour then.
