Tuesday 2nd July. Campbeltown. self proclaimed whisky capital of the world. Still here.
It's a well equipped town with a chandlery so I can get on with some long overdue jobs on the boat.
There's a memorial garden to Linda McCartney which I didn't get around to visiting.
What´s the connection with Linda McCartney, Brendan? She was American after all.

ReplyDeleteFound the answer! She fell in love with the place long before her relationship with Paul began. They both had a sort of getaway home there which put it on the map especially ...."when the "Mull of Kintyre" record, with its striking cover image of Davaar Island, became one of the best-loved songs in the McCartney canon."
ReplyDeleteoops! Seems like our answers got crossed in the wires somehow, Steve. T
ReplyDeleteAnyway, there´s a memorial garden to Linda which might be worth a visit, Bren, if you have time on your hands.
